December & Year End 2016 – Monthly Statisics

Airline passenger traffic in December at Hector International Airport showed an increase when compared to the same month in 2015. In December 2016, the passenger enplanements were 34,481. This is an increase of 2.3% when compared to the December 2015 passenger enplanements of 34,049.

Total passenger count for the month was 67,842 which is also up 3.3% over the same period last year.

There were 532 air carrier departures with an average of 79 seats per flight in December and a daily average of 2,188 passengers both arriving and departing.

Year End 2016 Summary
Airline passenger traffic in 2016 at Hector International Airport showed a decrease as compared to 2015. In 2016, the total passenger enplanements were 395,614. This is a decrease of 7.8% when compared to 2015 passenger enplanements of 429,251.

The passenger traffic numbers do not include 6,452 charter passengers that also enplaned from the various charter operators in 2016.

This was the third busiest year on record with a 79% overall load factor.

Total passenger count for the year was 789,182, which is down 4% over 2015 which had 858,982 total passengers.
