Welcome to Hector International Airport - Fargo, ND
Fargo residents today take off for the fun and sun of Orlando, Fla. as low-fare airline Allegiant Air inaugurates nonstop service from Hector International Airport to the Sunshine State. To celebrate, the low-cost airline is offering a special $119* one-way fare to Orlando.
In a special event before takeoff, Allegiant will present the local children's charity, Make-A-Wish of North Dakota, with 10 roundtrip tickets from Fargo to Orlando. The charity will be able to use the tickets for fundraising purposes, to send children to the Magic Kingdom or in whatever way will benefit the organization the most. "We are extremely pleased to again expand the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop, jet service to the Fargo community," Maurice J. Gallagher Jr., Allegiant Air president & CEO, said. "This is an exciting new addition for our airline and our customers as we launch the only scheduled nonstop service between Fargo and Orlando."
The new service operates twice weekly, with service Monday and Friday. Flights depart Hector International Airport at 11:50 a.m. arriving in Orlando Sanford International Airport at 4:15 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando depart at 8:40 a.m. arriving in Fargo at 11:10 a.m. (all flight times are local.) Allegiant Air began nonstop, low-cost service to Las Vegas Nov. 7, 2005 and flights to Phoenix-Mesa Nov. 15, 2007.
"Our community and surrounding region is excited to gain nonstop service to Orlando," Shawn Dobberstein, executive director of Hector International Airport, said. "This is the sixth nonstop destination from Fargo's Hector International Airport. Allegiant Air provides excellent service to our mutual customers. We value Allegiant Air's partnership that supports our ongoing efforts to enhance air service opportunities for our market."
Allegiant will utilize 150-seat, MD-80 series, jet-aircraft on the route. The airline said its research and input from local community leaders indicate the Fargo community will welcome the new nonstop flights and low fares to Orlando. The new Orlando service will offer the community low-cost alternative to connecting flights and long drives.
