Airline passenger traffic in February at Hector International Airport showed an increase as compared to the same month in 2008. In February 2009, the passenger enplanements were 27,762. This is an increase of 3.7% when compared to the February 2008 passenger enplanements of 26,773.

February 2009 was the busiest February on record in terms of enplaned and total passengers.

Total passenger count for the month was 54,294, which is up 4.5% over the same period last year.

On February 18, Allegiant Air announced non-stop service to Los Angeles beginning on May 23.
