Forward looking infrared (FLIR) cameras were recently installed on two of the North Dakota Air National Guard airport rescue firefighting (ARFF) vehicles that they use for emergency services at Hector International Airport.

The cameras are roof mounted on each ARFF vehicle and each have the ability of pan and tilt viewing, all of which are controlled by a joystick inside the operator's cab. The image is then displayed on a 10" LCD screen that the operator can use to view the surrounding area.

The cameras were purchased by the Municipal Airport Authority for use by the North Dakota Air National Guard.
