Northwest Airlines Marks 70th Anniversary Of Fargo Service

Northwest Airlines today marks its 70th anniversary of service to Fargo, ND. The carrier inaugurated regularly scheduled service on Feb. 2, 1931 from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Fargo with continuing service to Pembina, ND.

"Northwest is proud of its 70-year history serving Fargo and we offer our thanks to the community for its support," said Tom Corrington, Northwest's station manager-Fargo. "We've worked hard to meet the needs of Fargo's traveling public and have enjoyed a strong partnership during these seven decades of service."

Northwest and Northwest Airlink operate eight daily jet flights between Fargo and Northwest's Minneapolis/St. Paul hub. From the Twin Cities, Northwest operates convenient connecting service to points throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

"Northwest is dedicated to giving Fargo one-stop access to the world," Corrington said. "This benefits thousands of Fargo travelers each year who fly to business and leisure destinations around the globe."

Northwest is celebrating also its 75th anniversary of service as a company and is the oldest U.S. airline with a continuous identification.
