BUSIEST YEAR ON RECORD

Hector International Airport’s airline passenger traffic in December showed an increase when compared to the same month in 2023  In December 2024, the passenger enplanements were 50,400.  This is an increase of 10% when compared to the December 2023 passenger enplanements of 45,655.

The total passenger count for the month was 98,882, which is up 11% over the same period last year.

There were 630 air carrier departures with an average of 95 seats per flight in December and an average of 3,190 total daily passengers.

Year-End 2024 Summary – Busiest Year on Record

Airline passenger traffic in 2024 at Hector International Airport showed an increase as compared to 2023.  In 2024, the total passenger enplanements were 546,787. This is an increase of 6% when compared to the 2023 passenger enplanements of 516,071.

Hector International Airport broke its all-time enplanement record four times in 2024.  First was July (48,344), then August (48,514), October (48,627) and finally December (50,400).  Previous to 2024, the records were last set in March 2023 (48,032) and then December 2019 (46,019).

The total passenger count for the year was 1,092,836, which is up 6% over 2023 which had 1,032,497 total passengers.

Hector Airport had 6,964 air carrier landings in 2024 that averaged 94 seats per flight and averaged an 84% load factor.

Air Cargo 2024 Summary

In 2024, 5,518 air cargo aircraft landed with a total landed weight of 349,270,730 pounds.  This compares to 2023 of 5,688 air cargo aircraft landed with a total landed weight of 406,090,395 pounds.  2024 had a -14% decrease over the previous year.  This decrease follows a national air cargo trend and also the cancellation of the USPS mail contract with FedEx.
