  • Daily non-stop flights begin in November

Fargo – July 26, 2018 – UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced it will begin serving customers in Fargo and surrounding areas of North Dakota and Minnesota with jet service to Fargo’s Hector International Airport. The company also will hire about 70 people to staff the airport facility.

A UPS® 757 cargo jet, carrying a payload of up to 87,000 lbs., will operate twice a day between Fargo and UPS Worldport, the company’s main air hub in Louisville, Ky. The flights, which begin Nov. 5 are a non-stop link connecting Fargo with UPS’s global delivery network. Nine smaller turboprop aircraft also will be based in Fargo, providing service to central and western North Dakota and northern Minnesota.

UPS Boeing 757“The jet service is great news for our customers,” UPS Northern Plains District President Stephanie Dexter said. “Each night, the 757 will depart more than three hours later than the turboprop currently serving the city. That means three more hours every day for our customers in Fargo to do business,” she said.

“We are delighted that UPS has decided to significantly enhance its air cargo operations at Fargo’s Hector International Airport,” said Shawn Dobberstein, executive director of the Fargo Municipal Airport Authority. “This commitment will bring jobs to the Fargo-Moorhead community and represents an investment in the regional economy through expanded air cargo express delivery services, which play a vital role in the daily routine of businesses and individuals throughout North Dakota and western Minnesota.”

The company also will hire for a variety of positions, including part-time package handlers, management and administrative staff. UPS jobs – including part-time positions — come with excellent pay and benefits, including healthcare and retirement benefits. In addition, part-time employees in college will be eligible to receive up to $25,000 in tuition assistance through the company’s Earn and Learn program.

Hiring will begin in mid-September. Interested job seekers can easily apply for these jobs by visiting UPSjobs.com. Applicants must apply online.
